Conserving the Painting

When we acquired this painting it had been in a domestic setting for many years and was not glazed. Many years of dust and grime had built up on the surface so we sent it to professional painting conservators to have it assessed. See it's transformation here.

Once the conservation cleaning had been completed, much more colour and detail was revealed. The painting was also glazed to protect it. Pin on Pinterest

The painting is now on display at Melton Carnegie Museum
